Shipstar is the sequel to Bowl of Heaven, continuing the story of a human expedition to another star system. This structure, called the Shipstar, is heading toward the same star system the human ship aims to colonize. As the human explorers investigate the Shipstar, they become separated. One group is captured by the structure's alien inhabitants, while another is pursued across its strange and dangerous landscape. Through their encounters, the explorers uncover mysteries about the Shipstar's origins and purpose, leading to discoveries that change their understanding of humanity's place in the universe.
