About this book

Sisters of Shiloh is a historical novel set during the Civil War. Before joining the Confederate army, brothers Joseph and Thomas were actually sisters—Josephine and Libby. After the battle of Antietam leaves Libby widowed, she vows vengeance, puts on her husband Arden's clothes, and enlists with the Stonewall Brigade, determined to kill one Yankee for every year of her husband's life. Josephine, desperate to protect her grieving sister, joins her in the army. Surrounded by combat, deprivation, and illness, the sisters face additional dangers. Libby struggles with her mental state, haunted by her husband's ghost, while Josephine develops feelings for a fellow soldier. Josephine lives in constant fear of both exposing their disguise and losing her first love before she can reveal her feelings. The novel explores the bonds of sisterhood, the hopes and costs of love and war, and how what matters most can both hurt and heal.
