Slaves of the Switchboard of Doom: A Novel of Retropolis

Slaves of the Switchboard of Doom is set in Retropolis, a world inspired by the future imagined at the 1939 World Fair. The story follows Dash Kent, a freelance adventurer and apartment manager, who is hired to investigate after switchboard operators are mysteriously replaced by an incomprehensible new system. Kent's investigation uncovers that the replacement switchboard is part of a larger scheme devised by an insane civil engineer—a plan so expansive it extends from Retropolis to the Moon. The plot involves dashing bubble-helmeted heroes, robot sidekicks, mad scientists, rocket engineers, switchboard operators, space pirates, and other characters. The scheme will affect the Space Patrol, the Fraternal League of Robotic Persons, the mad scientists of Experimental Research District, and the priests of the Temple of the Spider God. The novel is written and illustrated by Bradley W. Schenck and includes two dozen illustrations throughout. This title is sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
