Slow Gods

Slow Gods is a space opera following Mawukana na-Vdnaze, a man who describes himself as a poor copy of his former self. After dying in a pilot's chair in deep space, he is reborn as something no longer fully human—something capable of communicating with the infinite dark. He vows to become the scourge of the world that wronged him. The novel charts one man's impossible life against the fate of humanity among the stars, encompassing a supernova event that destroyed planets and civilizations, and the many lives he has lived since his first death. The narrative explores themes of found meaning and lost humanity across a galaxy-spanning scope. Slow Gods was a finalist for the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel and was named Best of the Year by Gizmodo and Library Journal, among others.
