Molly Blum and Jude Stark are childhood rivals forced to work together planning their parents' anniversary party. As a New Yorker, Molly has known Jude her entire life. Despite their families' closeness, they became nemeses—she views him as a charming slacker while he sees her as someone who avoids fun. Years of escalating pranks culminated in a high school joke that went too far, ending their communication entirely. Now tasked with organizing a major party together, they resume their competitive dynamic with renewed intensity. However, as they work through the planning process, a reluctant friendship emerges alongside unexpected romantic tension. Both have a pattern of dating people who resemble the other—Molly dates Jude-lookalikes while Jude dates Molly doppelgangers. They gradually discover neither is as objectionable as they believed. While Molly and Jude have perfected the art of antagonism, navigating romantic feelings presents an entirely different challenge.
