Sons of the City: A Novel

Philadelphia's streets are the setting for escalating tensions after a police officer is killed in a crack house. The killing sparks racial unrest, prompting police to conduct sweeping roundups of young black men throughout the city. Sergeant Eddie North believes the Mob is responsible for the officer's death. Driven by a desire for justice and vengeance, North plans to wage his own campaign against Organized Crime. He finds an unexpected ally in Michelle Ryder, the slain officer's sister and a policewoman willing to work undercover and risk her career and life. As Michelle becomes increasingly entangled in the Mafia world, the situation grows more dangerous than either anticipated. North soon faces serious consequences for pushing beyond the boundaries of the law.
