Sophia's War: A Tale of the Revolution

In 1776, young Sophia Calderwood witnesses the execution of Nathan Hale in British-occupied New York City. Horrified by what she sees, she resolves to support the American cause. Recruited as a spy, Sophia becomes a maid in the home of General Clinton, the supreme commander of British forces in America. Through her position, she discovers that someone in the American army may be defecting to the British side and uncovers a plot that could severely damage the American forces. When Sophia learns the identity of the potential traitor, no one believes her account. Facing this obstacle and aware of the grave danger she faces, she decides to stop the plot herself. As a young girl with limited time and resources, she risks execution if she fails.
