Summer at Hideaway Key

Lily St. Claire, a pragmatic and independent woman, inherits a small house on Hideaway Key along Florida's Gulf Coast from her late father—a property neither her mother nor she knew existed. Expecting a quaint cottage, she discovers a run-down bungalow filled with memorabilia. Inside, Lily finds a carton of old journals written by her mother's sister, a woman whose name has been forbidden in the St. Claire family. Through these journals, Lily uncovers a family history she never knew: stories of her mother and aunt as young girls in Tennessee, and the secrets that shaped their adult lives. As Lily reads and explores Hideaway Key, she develops a new perspective on her family and herself. She also begins to open her heart to the place, its people, and the architect who lives nearby. The novel explores whether Lily can learn to trust and whether love might offer safety rather than danger.
