Sarah is a preacher's daughter from Devil's Head, Missouri, who is about to graduate high school and pursue her dream of singing in Nashville. The town expects her to marry Matt, the son of a wealthy local rancher and her current boyfriend. When Matt's older brother Isaac returns home after six years in the Army, Sarah finds herself drawn to him despite their forbidden connection. Isaac, who has tattoos and habits disapproved by her father, spends his time working on the ranch, competing in rodeos, and playing guitar in the barn. Sarah's love of music pulls her toward him. As Isaac and Sarah share guitar lessons and playful banter, the line between right and wrong blurs. Isaac proposes something Sarah cannot refuse. When an unexpected event destroys everything she knows, Sarah must decide what choice to make.
