The Bad Weather Friend

Benny Catspaw has an unusually sunny disposition, but his life unravels when he loses his job, reputation, fiancée, and favorite chair. He suspects someone is deliberately targeting him, though he doesn't know who or why. Benny inherits a mysterious crate and video message from an uncle he never knew. Inside is Spike, a seven-foot-tall figure who describes himself as a "bad weather friend" dedicated to helping people who are too good for this world. Spike promises to find and deal with Benny's enemies, though his methods of intimidation are deeply unsettling. Alongside Spike and Harper, a young waitress training to become a private investigator, Benny becomes caught up in a dangerous, high-speed adventure far removed from his ordinary life.
