About this book

The Butcher Game is the second novel in the Dr. Wren Muller series, told from the perspectives of both a serial killer and a medical examiner. Jeremy Rose, known as the Bayou Butcher, travels north to escape capture for his crimes. He seeks refuge with a former friend while pursuing unfinished business with forensic pathologist Dr. Wren Muller, who has escaped him twice before. He is determined to make her suffer according to his own rules. Wren is on forced medical leave in New Orleans, recovering from her traumatic encounter with Jeremy. When evidence emerges that he is leaving a trail of mutilated victims across Massachusetts, she decides to resume her pursuit of him as a path to healing. However, she discovers she may have walked into his trap. As their conflict escalates, Wren prepares to sacrifice everything to bring Jeremy to justice. The novel incorporates details from the author's background as an autopsy technician and co-host of the true crime podcast Morbid.
