In The Mislaid Magician, set in 1828, Cecelia and Kate are now society matrons facing a new threat: the steam engine's arrival is disrupting England's ancient magical ley lines. When a foreign diplomat disappears, Cecelia investigates the incident while Kate manages their spell-casting children at home. The trilogy blends history, romance, and magic across the three interconnected stories.
