The Epicenter of Forever: A Novel

Eden Hawthorne spent childhood summers in Grand Trees, a mountain town in California's fire country situated along an earthquake fault. After her family fractured there, she left and swore never to return. Twenty years later, news of her estranged mother's illness brings her back, and she must also navigate a recent divorce. Upon her return, Eden encounters her mother's found family, including single father Caleb Connell, who blames her for the rift that caused her to leave. As they move past their initial conflict, Eden and Caleb uncover shared pain and connected histories, and develop an attraction between them. When her mother's condition deteriorates, Eden faces a difficult choice between the relationship developing with Caleb and reconciling with her mother. With time limited, Eden worries that her decision will cause her to repeat the painful patterns of her past.
