Decades ago, alien Visitors arrived on Earth claiming to offer peace and prosperity, but their true objective was human subjugation. After a devastating war, humanity drove the Visitors back to Mars, leaving behind millions of human collaborators. Federal Recovery Agent Nathan Foster works to hunt down these former alien collaborators and bring them to justice. Foster is assigned to apprehend Emmogene Anderson, a woman who was experimented on by the Visitors as a teenager and implanted with a device allowing her to control other people. She travels with her obsessive ex-lover, a former commando in the Visitors' forces. The task seems straightforward, but Emmogene carries an additional implant of far greater significance. Foster and his partner Ben must determine what is right in a largely lawless world, with the planet's fate at stake.
