The Game of Life and How to Play it - Florence Scovel Shinn

Florence Scovel Shinn was an artist, author, and metaphysics teacher in early 20th-century New York. She taught that life operates as a game governed by universal laws, and that mastering these laws allows people to achieve health, prosperity, and happiness. Through real-life examples, she demonstrated how positive attitudes and affirmations enable individuals to control life's conditions and access abundance through spiritual knowledge. Shinn explained her success principles in an accessible, entertaining style. She published her first book, The Game of Life and How to Play It, in 1925 after self-publishing when traditional publishers rejected it. Her second book, Your Word is Your Wand, appeared in 1928, followed by The Secret Door to Success in 1940, shortly before her death on October 17, 1940. A fourth book, The Power of the Spoken Word, was compiled from her notes by a student and published posthumously in 1945. Her works have inspired readers for decades.
