Shannon Moss works for a clandestine division within the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. In 1997 western Pennsylvania, she is assigned to investigate the murder of a Navy SEAL's family and locate his missing teenage daughter. Her investigation reveals that the SEAL was an astronaut aboard the spaceship U.S.S. Libra, a vessel thought lost to Deep Time. Moss, familiar with the psychological effects of time-travel, suspects the SEAL's experience with the future triggered the violence. Driven by a personal connection to the case, Moss travels forward in time to explore possible futures and gather evidence for the present-day investigation. What she discovers is far more dire than a single family's tragedy: the Terminus, a cataclysmic end of humanity itself, is approaching across time toward the present. The novel combines science fiction concepts with an investigation-driven narrative centered on deeply human stakes.
