The Grub-and-Stakers Move a Mountain

In the first Dittany Henbit mystery, a small-town gardening and archery club must solve a murder and protect their community from developers. Freelance secretary Dittany Henbit, a skilled archer, is practicing in the woods near Lobelia Falls when she encounters a surveyor working in an unauthorized location. As she confronts him, an arrow passes dangerously close overhead—deliberately fired, though not aimed at her. Nearby, they discover Mr. Architrave, the water department head, dead beneath the trees he cherished. Development is advancing toward Lobelia Falls, and someone in town is willing to kill to prevent it. With nearly every resident trained in archery from childhood, Dittany faces a difficult investigation to identify the killer among many who possess both the skill and potential motive.
