The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A Novel

Set in January 1946, this novel follows writer Juliet Ashton as she receives a letter from a stranger on the island of Guernsey who discovered her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb. As Juliet and her correspondent exchange letters, she learns about the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society—a group formed as a cover story when its members were caught breaking curfew during the German occupation of their island. She learns about their lives on the island and how the recent German occupation has affected them. Drawn in by their stories, Juliet travels to Guernsey, where she experiences something that transforms her life.
