The Ingredients of Love: A Novel

Aurélie Bredin, a Parisian restaurateur, discovers a novel in a bookshop on the Ile Saint-Louis while recovering from a breakup. To her astonishment, the book features her restaurant and herself in its pages. After reading it in one night, she becomes determined to meet its author. Aurélie contacts the book's shy English author through his French publishers, but the company's chief editor, André, reluctantly forwards her letter. When the author finally responds, their eventual meeting unfolds differently than Aurélie had anticipated. Set in Paris, the novel weaves together books, recipes, and characters. It draws inspiration from works like Cyrano de Bergerac, Chocolat, and Amélie.
