The Mysterious Benedict Society

This is the first book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. The story begins when dozens of children respond to an unusual newspaper advertisement asking, "Are you a gifted child looking for special opportunities?" They are given a series of challenging tests that readers experience alongside them. Four children—two boys and two girls—pass these tests and are selected for a secret mission that requires exceptional intelligence and creativity. Their assignment takes them undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, a school with an unusual rule: there are no rules. While there, they discover hidden underground tunnels containing far more than typical school supplies. The children must use their skills and ingenuity to complete their mission.
