The Planet of Junior Brown

Junior Brown is an eighth-grade student who is a talented musician and aspiring professional pianist. He weighs three hundred pounds and faces challenges from an overbearing mother, disappointed teachers, and teasing from classmates. As pressures mount, Junior begins to withdraw into his own mind and lose touch with reality and those around him. His primary source of support is Buddy Clark, a classmate and his only friend who is homeless and without family. Buddy has already experienced some of life's difficult lessons. Whether this friendship can help Junior navigate middle school remains uncertain.
