This prequel to the Grantchester series follows Sidney Chambers through postwar London. In 1938, eighteen-year-old Sidney dances at a birthday party at the Caledonian Club, unaware of the war to come. Seven years later, he returns to London bearing a Military Cross and grief over his best friend's death in Italy. Carrying secret guilt, Sidney must determine his future path.
