The Second Traitor (Double Agent series Book 2)

It is September 1940, and British intelligence faces an imminent Nazi invasion threat. The German navy is assembling a fleet in Rotterdam to transport troops and supplies across the Channel. Within the UK, a group called The Group—composed of British and Irish Nazi collaborators—works to facilitate the Wehrmacht's arrival. The Invasion Warning Sub-Committee is established to counter this threat, and Charles Cooper, recently arrived from The Annexe, joins the effort to dismantle the network. Simultaneously, MI6 intensifies its search for two traitors: 'Archie', a Soviet spy and British double agent believed to work within MI6, and 'Bertie', a second traitor confirmed to be active. An elaborate scheme is devised to identify the suspects as suspicion reaches paranoid levels within the intelligence service. The narrative spans wartime London, the English south coast, Berlin, neutral Ireland, Hamburg's German intelligence headquarters, and the port of Rotterdam. This is the second novel in the Double Agent series, following Every Spy a Traitor.
