About this book

A mysterious death at Nora Pennington's Miracle Books draws the Secret, Book, and Scone Society into a murder investigation during Halloween season in Miracle Springs, North Carolina. Nora hosts medium memoirist Lara Luz at the bookstore. Lara, who was struck by lightning as a child and claims to have gained the ability to connect with the dead, performs a reading for a select group of patrons. When a storm knocks out the power, Lara collapses and dies. Nora suspects foul play, especially after discovering Lara's journal containing coded entries about her clients' secrets. Among those in the reading group are the town's widower pharmacist, an urgent care nurse, a mystery author, and Deputy Hollowell. None were admirers of Lara. Nora and the Secret, Book, and Scone Society must identify which suspect had motive and opportunity to commit murder before another death occurs.
