Emily Janssen, a thirty-five-year-old artist living in Crescent Falls, Vermont, works at the inn owned by her grandmothers while pursuing her art. Diana Devlin, a driven businesswoman from Boston, is close to securing a promotion that will position her to become CEO of her family's hotel chain. During an unexpected encounter with Emily on a mountainside, the two share an intense night together.
