Lucas Izod is a young, wealthy man who lacks the capacity to grieve or regret. When something valuable escapes his control, he embarks on a methodical killing spree targeting innocent women, with each murder serving as a calculated symbol. He adopts the identity of the Imperious Killer. Ray, a former hunter of serial killers, recognizes that Lucas operates with unusual precision and theatricality. When the daughter of Ray's closest friend becomes one of Lucas's victims, Ray returns to active pursuit and partners with Arthur, a high-functioning psychopath whose mind works similarly to the killer's. Ray and Arthur form an unlikely alliance—one driven by purpose, the other by logic—to track Lucas. Lucas is not practicing his methods but building his legend, determined to ensure the world knows his name and remembers it through violence.
