The Wild Card: a single dad hockey romance

Tate Ward, a former star player and now the Vancouver Storm's most successful coach, is a single dad admired by everyone—except Jordan Hathaway, the team's newest staff member. Jordan previously worked as a bartender at the team's favorite bar but is forced to take a position with the Storm when her father threatens to sell the team. Despite their initial friction, Jordan discovers that beneath Tate's controlled exterior he is funny, encouraging, and protective. He offers her his guest house, involves her with his daughter, and takes her side against those who upset her. As they work closely together, the boundary between them becomes unclear. Jordan encourages Tate to prioritize his own desires, and he comes to realize what he truly wants is her—even though a relationship would jeopardize both their careers.
