Things That Break Us

Easton Rowe is an actor who avoids public attention despite his wealth and fame. He finds genuine relationships difficult because people are drawn to his status rather than himself. When his sister becomes seriously ill, Nova—his sister's best friend who has been part of their lives for years—comes to help the family through the crisis. As Nova supports Easton during this difficult time, he finds himself drawn to her in unexpected ways. He notices signs of her own past trauma: the way she flinches at sudden movements, a haunted quality in her expression. Despite his usual emotional distance, Easton feels compelled to get closer to her. Nova believes she has little to offer, but Easton sees potential in combining their damaged pieces into something whole.
