Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story

A mystery novel set in the Irish village of Glennkill, where a flock of sheep investigates the death of George, their shepherd, who is found pinned to the ground with a spade. Led by Miss Maple, the smartest sheep in the village, the flock includes Othello (rescued from Dublin Zoo), Mopple the Whale (who remembers everything), and Zora, an existential ewe. George had read to the sheep every night, and they prove far more perceptive about human nature than typical sheep. The sheep discuss the crime at length and conduct missions into the village to investigate suspects, including Ham the butcher, Rebecca a newcomer to the village, and Father Will, a priest. The novel combines mystery with humor and explores the investigation through the sheep's perspective and reasoning.
