When the Rain Ends

When artist Dani Manchester discovers she is losing her vision, she struggles to cope. Her ex-husband died months earlier, leaving Dani and her preteen daughter grieving. The life they built on the Outer Banks now feels like a painful reminder of their loss. Dani impulsively sells her waterfront home and purchases an old farm inland near the Virginia state line. Her daughter resists this sudden change, having known only the Outer Banks' beaches, dawns, and storms. Despite her daughter's reluctance, Dani moves the family to Virginia to begin a difficult renovation project. That summer, as they work to convert a run-down silo into an art studio, they form new friendships, encounter new relationships, and face new obstacles. As mother and daughter endure their most difficult period, they discover they can face life's hardships together, rather than waiting for circumstances to improve on their own.
