Where Butterflies Wander: A Novel

After a tragic accident takes the life of one of her children, Marie Egide seeks a fresh start for her family. She travels to New Hampshire with her husband and three surviving children, intending to sell a family estate in hopes of healing from their grief. Marie's plans encounter an obstacle when she discovers that a war veteran known locally as "the river witch" is living in a cabin on the property. The woman, Davina, claims the cabin was given to her by Marie's grandfather and refuses to leave. As the two women clash, conflict spreads through Marie's family and the town, with each side fighting for what they believe is right. The tension escalates until it reaches a breaking point, and circumstances beyond their control take over.
