White Horses (Mira)

Set in January 1813 during the Napoleonic wars, this Regency romance follows Gabrielle Rochon, who has inherited the Cirque Equestre, France's premier equestrian tradition. After the emperor destroyed her family's way of life, Gabrielle pledges to help the British army smuggle gold across France to the Duke of Wellington's headquarters in Spain—a mission her late father would have supported. To carry out this dangerous plan without arousing enemy suspicion, Gabrielle is paired with Colonel Leo Branford, a striking British officer ordered to pose as her husband. Though Gabrielle resents having to publicly defer to him, the perilous nature of their mission creates an intimate bond between them.
