About this book

A fairy godmother named Desiderata, who had good intentions but poor planning, dies and leaves the Princess Emberella in the care of her other godmother—one far less good and wise. Magrat Garlick, Granny Weatherwax, and Nanny Ogg must travel by broomstick to the distant city of Genua to prevent the servant girl from marrying the Prince. The journey proves difficult, with the witches encountering vampires, werewolves, and falling houses along the way. Once they arrive in Genua, their real challenge begins: they must confront a power-hungry counterpart who will do anything to achieve a "happy ending," even if it means destroying the kingdom.
