"Artificial": Poetic Expressions from the Digital Mind

This volume contains proceedings from the seventeenth edition of the Canadian Society for the Computational Studies of Intelligence conference (AI 2004). The conference received 105 submissions to the main conference, from which 29 papers were selected as full papers and 22 as short or position papers. All submissions underwent thorough review by program committee members, with each paper assigned to at least three reviewers. The conference also hosted three workshops and a graduate symposium. Fourteen papers were selected from 21 graduate symposium submissions for inclusion in this volume. Three distinguished researchers—Fahiem Bacchus, Michael Littman, and Manuela Veloso—delivered invited talks on their active research in artificial intelligence.
