Bitter Roots: Police Procedural Mysteries

A young woman's body is discovered in Lost Trail, Montana, alarming the small town. Dispatcher Zak Waller, who typically works behind the scenes at the Sheriff's Office, begins his own investigation when the Sheriff quickly attributes the death to an unknown outsider. Zak suspects there is more to the case than the official account suggests, knowing that secrets run deep in the tight-knit community. Tiff Masterson has returned to her hometown in difficult circumstances, only to discover that her family is connected to the tragedy—the victim worked at their Christmas tree farm. Town lawyer Justin Pittman also becomes involved, driven by his commitment to justice as tensions rise in the community. Bound by their long-standing ties to the town, Zak, Tiff, and Justin work together to uncover the truth. However, they discover that evil has taken deeper root in their community than they anticipated.
