Children of Dune

Children of Dune is the third book in the Dune Chronicles. The story centers on twin siblings Leto and Ghanima Atreides, whose father, Emperor Paul Muad'Dib, vanished in Arrakis's desert nine years before the novel begins. Like their father, the twins possess supernormal abilities, which makes them valuable to their aunt Alia, who currently rules the Empire on behalf of House Atreides. Alia's control is threatened on multiple fronts. The displaced House Corrino plots to reclaim the throne, while the Fremen face provocation toward open revolt by a figure called The Preacher. Alia seeks to obtain the twins' prophetic visions, believing this knowledge will help her maintain her dynasty's power. However, Leto and Ghanima have their own intentions regarding their visions and futures.
