About this book

Tres Amigas Café chef Rita Lafitte is preparing green chile soufflés and chocolate flans for Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Santa Fe. Her friend Linda, daughter of Rita's elderly boss Flori, operates Tia Tamales food cart, which is losing business to Crepe Empire, a competing food cart run by Napoleon, a celebrity chef intent on eliminating the competition. When Linda argues with Napoleon and his body is later found stabbed beneath her tamale cart, she becomes the primary suspect. Rita sets out to investigate and prove Linda's innocence. Suspects include Napoleon's former employees and a health inspector with questionable practices. As Rita pursues the investigation, a second body appears, forcing her to work quickly to identify a killer with murderous intentions.
