This collection contains twelve science fiction stories. The opening story, "A Ticket to Tranai," follows Marvin Goodman as he discovers what he believes to be an unknown paradise, only to find it becomes a death trap. The other eleven stories included are "The Mountain Without a Name," "The Accountant," "Hunting Problem," "A Thief in Time," "The Luckiest Man in the World," "Hands Off," "Something for Nothing," "The Battle," "Skulking Permit," "Citizen in Space," and "Ask a Foolish Question." From the start of his career, Robert Sheckley was recognized by fans, reviewers, and fellow authors as a master storyteller and satirist in science fiction. Open Road is republishing his body of work, which includes nearly thirty volumes of full-length fiction and short story collections. According to the New York Times, Sheckley was "a precursor to Douglas Adams."
