About this book

Piper, a woman in her thirties, and her grandmother relocate to Bitter End, Florida, as part of the witness protection program. Both are former members of a motorcycle gang in Oregon and entered the program after being charged with tax evasion and money laundering. They chose this option over potential jail time or retaliation from the gang they testified against. Adjusting to life in Florida proves difficult for them. They move into a retirement community filled with unfamiliar people and must adapt to a lifestyle far removed from their former one—trading biker boots for flip-flops and navigating the practical challenges of their new circumstances. They are also expected to stay on the right side of the law. When a dead body appears in their neighbor's front yard, Piper and her grandmother become drawn into investigating the murder despite their intention to remain inconspicuous. As they dig deeper, they realize their cover is at risk of being exposed and decide they must find the killer before their identity is revealed.
