This collection presents seventeen short stories featuring dangerous women characters, edited by Otto Penzler. The stories explore femmes fatales across mystery and suspense fiction, published for the first time. The collection includes "Third Party" by Jay McInerney, set in Paris with a party girl character; "Rendezvous" by Nelson DeMille, set in a Vietnam jungle; "Louly and Pretty Boy" by Elmore Leonard, featuring a Depression-era teenage gun moll connected to Pretty Boy Floyd; and "Cielo Azul" by Michael Connelly, about a dead woman found on a Los Angeles hillside. Additional contributors include Lorenzo Carcaterra, Joyce Carol Oates, John Connolly, Thomas H. Cook, Jeffery Deaver, J. A.
