Perfect for you if...

  • You're drawn to speculative fiction that uses wild premises to nail real-world anger about inequality and class.
  • You appreciate short, sharp novels that pack political teeth without sacrificing character or style.
  • You've read Doctorow or Jemisin and want more sci-fi that treats social systems as the true antagonist.

Maybe not for you if...

  • You prefer slow-burn worldbuilding and lengthy explorations of how technology actually works.
  • You want escapism without a side of rage about economic systems and who gets to live long lives.
  • You need traditional three-act structure and tidy resolutions over messy, open-ended confrontations.

About this book

Everything Belongs to the Future explores themes of time, betrayal, desperation, and hope. The novel imagines a world where time functions as a weapon wielded by the wealthy, who can afford life-extension treatments that allow them to live for centuries, while others must trade their time simply to survive. Set in Oxford University, the story follows Nina, Alex, Margo, and Fidget—anarchists living communally with punks and displaced youth—as they navigate a society where the ultra-rich celebrate their extended lifespans. The scientist who created the longevity treatment also plays a role in the narrative. The novel draws parallels between its fictional premise and real-world inequalities, where wealth determines access to life-extension while working-class lifespans decline. This edition is sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
