I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons

In the backwater kingdom of Bellemontagne, dragons are common creatures ranging from mouse-sized pests to castle-destroying beasts. Gaius Aurelius Constantine Heliogabalus Thrax, who prefers to be called Robert, has recently inherited his father's position as a dragon catcher and exterminator—a job he deeply dislikes. Though he feels a kinship with dragons, his true objection stems from his lifelong dream of transcending his humble origins to become a prince's valet, a goal he considers impossible. When fate intervenes with different plans, Robert and a cast of characters trapped in their prescribed roles—dragon hunter, princess, and others—must work together to take control of their own destinies. The novel balances elements of power and whimsy as these characters navigate their circumstances.
