I'm Still Here (Je Suis Là)

Elsa has been in a coma for five months. Her family and doctors are preparing to accept that life support may need to be discontinued. Unknown to them, Elsa has recently regained partial consciousness—she is aware of her surroundings and can hear conversations at her bedside, but has no way to communicate her awareness. Thibault is at the same hospital visiting his brother, a drunk driver responsible for the deaths of two teenage girls. Struggling with his emotions, Thibault seeks refuge in Elsa's room. Watching her peaceful form, he finds it difficult to believe she is not simply asleep. Thibault begins visiting Elsa regularly. As he learns about her through her family and friends, he develops feelings for her. When he speaks to her, he senses she can hear him. For Elsa, his visits provide relief.
