About this book

Jim and Ginger's detective agency has been operating for two months with minimal success—their only case so far involved finding a lost cat. When a tourist arrives seeking help locating his missing fifteen-year-old daughter, Jim takes the case after learning the police are not prioritizing the search. Expecting a runaway teenager, Jim instead discovers a series of pawn shop receipts, a rented boat, and references to an old pirate legend that Ginger dismisses as implausible. The missing girl apparently pursued the legend regardless. Jim and Ginger now race against an approaching storm and time constraints while growing increasingly convinced that Oceanview Cove's forgotten history may be more real than assumed. Jim harbors a particular unease about boats, while Ginger maintains general skepticism about the situation.
