About this book

A student goes missing during a school field trip, and policewoman Christine Lane feels responsible. After breaking up a fight between three students during a classroom visit, Christine sends them on their way. The next day, one boy disappears. While searching Toronto Island for the ten-year-old, Christine is surprised when investigators conclude the child ran away. She questions how he left the island, why he hasn't been found anywhere, and what prompted his disappearance. As Christine investigates further, she faces resistance from her boss, the school board, and the students' families. Threats follow. Christine must uncover what happened the night the boy vanished before she is forced to stop investigating. MISSING is the second standalone book in the Christine Lane Mystery series.
