Mobbed: A Regan Reilly Mystery

The fourteenth installment in Carol Higgins Clark's Regan Reilly mystery series takes place at the Jersey Shore. Private investigator Regan Reilly and her husband Jack, head of the NYPD Major Case Squad, plan a weekend getaway with her parents. Regan's mother Nora calls asking her to catch a train immediately. Regan has been hired by Hayley Patton, a New York City event planner, to follow Hayley's boyfriend Scott after suspecting infidelity. When Hayley learns of Scott's cheating, she vows revenge with such intensity that Regan worries she may go too far. Meanwhile, Nora receives a call from her high school classmate Karen Frawley Fulton, who lives in San Diego. Karen's mother has just sold their Jersey Shore home and is planning a large garage sale. Karen asks Nora to visit the house and prevent any further unusual activities. Nora invites Regan to join her. At the Frawley home, Regan is surprised to encounter Scott's new fiancée, who quickly disappears. Inside the house, Regan grows suspicious about the sudden vacancy. There is an unexpected explanation for what has occurred.
