Jenna Greene returns to her mother's house on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, after ending her engagement to her boss, which also cost her her job. With no income or prospects, she needs to figure out her next steps. Jenna seeks help from her childhood best friend Tyson Parker, who lives and works on the island as a volunteer firefighter and saltwater cowboy caring for Chincoteague's wild ponies.
