Mother Is a Verb: A Novel

Three women—Gwen Fisher, who is experiencing postpartum stress; Angeni Luna, who runs a successful social media enterprise; and Sasha Robinson, who is grieving her sister's death—converge on Bainbridge Island. Each is searching for something undefined: connection, validation, closure, or reassurance that they are making the right choices. Angeni operates a "momfluencer" commune focused on mindfulness and presence. She has developed inner peace through her own work and now offers it to others seeking the same. Gwen and Sasha may find what they need in this space, but a question emerges: can someone truly provide peace they haven't fully achieved themselves? As the three women begin to understand who they actually are, they confront what that self-knowledge means for their relationships with those close to them and those who only think they know them.
