About this book

In 2024, Earth experiences the War of Ocean Liberation, in which a military force of sea creatures attacks naval installations, closes shipping lanes and fishing operations, and destroys offshore oil-drilling rigs. The force includes large whales, sharks, dolphins, and creatures believed to be extinct, all acting with unexpected strength. The marine armada is commanded by hybrid humans who identify as Sea Warriors—ocean-rights activists capable of swimming to the ocean's deepest regions and sustaining themselves from marine resources. Their leader, Kimo Pohaku, declares his goal: complete liberation of the seas from human control. The ocean is fighting back, though success remains uncertain.
