People Watching: A Fall Romance

Prudence Welch lives a quiet life in Baysville, a tourist town in Northern Ontario. She works at her father's gas station, writes poetry, and cares for her mother, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease when Prue was nineteen. Though she once dreamed of leaving, she has found contentment in her routines—until her mother's condition worsens and her father grows concerned about her future. When Milo Kablukov arrives in town in his beat-up van, Prue is drawn to his adventurous spirit. The two form an unlikely friendship that evolves into a casual arrangement at Prue's request. Milo came to Baysville to help his brother, but finds himself increasingly drawn to Prue as they spend more time together. As their temporary agreement deepens into something more serious, both Prue and Milo must navigate what it means to step outside their comfort zones—not just individually, but together.
